Supreme Court Judge, Aishath Shujune Mohamed, has been appointed to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

At a special ceremony his morning at the President’s Office. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih made the appointment under his authority to appoint a Supreme Court Judge to the JSC under the Judicial Service Act.

The oath of office was read by the Supreme Court Judge, Dr. Azmiralda Zahir and Judge Shujune was presented with the letter of appointment to the position by President Solih.

She is one of the first two women to be appointed to the Maldivian Supreme Court. Shujune worked as a Judge and resigned in 2015 before she was appointed as a Justice of the Supreme Court on 4 September 2019.
