Maldivian Foreign Minister, Abdulla Shahid has arrived in India this morning.

He was welcomed at the India Gandhi International Airport by the Joint Secretary for the Indian Minister for External Affairs, Amit Narang.

According to the Foreign Ministry, Minister Shahid’s visit to India is to take part in the sixth Joint Commission Meeting with India set to take place to Friday.

The India-Maldives Joint Commission was formed to improve technical and economic cooperation and improve bilateral relations between the two countries.

The last meeting of the Commission was held in 2015 in Male’ City, Maldives.
