Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi has arrived in the Maldives on an official visit to celebrate 50.years of diplomatic ties between China and the Maldives.

The Chinese Minister was welcomed at Velana International Airport by the Maldivian Foreign Minister and the President of the UN General Assembly, Abdulla Shahid.

The official celebration of the 50-year relationship is set to be held tomorrow where high-level talks and several MoUs will be signed to strengthen the relations and further collaborations.

Maldivian Foreign Ministry said that a two countries will be issuing a joint statement after the official talks tomorrow.
