Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said that the number of influenza cases increased this past November compared to the month of October.

Statistics released today by the HPA on the spread of flu show 38 cases of reported influenza in October 2019 while 216 cases were reported in November. And this year so far, 1550 people have been tested for influenza and 553 people tested positive.

HPA also released statistics on dengue fever and common cold that show a rise in the cases of common cold in November.

While 19,910 people consulted doctors with common cold in October, 25,701 people consulted in November with a total of 229,302 people have consulted with common cold this year so far.

According to HPA statistics, 4,141 people contracted dengue fever this year so far with 369 of those cases taking place in October and 366 cases in November.

HPA has advised the public to be vigilant as flu is common in the country these days.
