Agreement Chinese company signed to build international stadium in Hulhumale’

An agreement has been signed with the China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) company to build a cricket stadium to international standards in Hulhumale’.

As part of the Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid’s official visit to China, the agreement was signed by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel. Representing CMEC on the agreement is General Manager and Representative of the CMEC office in Maldives, M.R. Liu Xia.

Under the agreement, the company will complete all the research regarding the project within four months and submit the documents to the Maldivian government.

The signing agreement was attended by Minister Shahid along with the Maldivian Ambassador to China, Aishath Azeema and the Executive Director and President of CMEC.

The cricket stadium being built in Hulhumale’ is funded by the Indian government.

Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof, said that the project will be completed by the end of the year.
