Criminal Court has set a hearing in the money laundering trial of the former President, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, to take place at 10:30 a.m.

Adam Asif, on the former President’s legal team, has confirmed the scheduling of the third hearing in the open trial of President Yameen.

The last hearing was held on 22 August 2019 where the President of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Muavviz Rasheed, former Vice President, Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor and the former Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Abdulla Ziyath testified against the former President.

Pending testimonies include those from the former President of the ACC, Hassan Luthufee, Mohamed Waseem Ismail and the former Tourism Minister, Moosa Zameer; all currently living abroad.
