Two people arrested with a large quantity of alcohol on Sunday night has been remanded.

During a special operation by the Maldives Police Service in Male' City on Sunday night, two people were arrested around 8:30 p.m. a search was conducted at their residence and a large quantity of alcohol were confiscated.

Police Media Official told ONE Online today that when they were taken to the Criminal Court for their remand hearing, one of them was remanded by ten days and the other by five days.

Sources have told ONE Online that one of the people arrested is an officer of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF). However, so far no official authority has confirmed this piece of information.
