Minister of Tourism, Ali Waheed, has taken part as the special guest at the opening ceremony of Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort.
At the ceremony, Minister Waheed said that the Maldivian culture plays a major role in creating the distinct aesthetic of Maldivian tourism.
He also noted that the resort invited various artists to take part in the ceremony and the management of the report has been creating opportunities for local talent to showcase their talents. Minister Waheed thanked the management of the resort for their efforts to use more locals in their staff.
Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort is the 16th resort to open in the Maldives after President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih took office according to the Tourism Ministry. They said that 16 new licenses to open resorts were issued after the term began.
