Sri Lankan Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe has arrived in the Maldives on an official visit to the Maldives on the invitation of the Maldivian President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe was welcomed at Velana International Airport by the Maldivian Foreign Minister, Abdulla Shahid.

The itinerary of the visit include official talks between the two countries on developing cooperation. Leaders of the two countries are set to sign a number of agreements on the visit.

The Prime Minister will also Chair the Indian Ocean Conference held in Maldives from 3-4 September.

The Sri Lankan Prime Minister is accompanied on the visit by his wife, Professor Maitree Wickremasinghe along with a high level delegation.
