MET Office has said that heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected across the country for the next 24 hours.
Maldives Meteorological Service said that rain is expected across the country from 10 a.m. to 10 a.m. tomorrow with winds between 45-50 mph. And heavy rain is expected in the North and Central Atolls.
Winds in the Southern Atolls are expected to be between 13-23 mph.
Seas across the country are expected to be rough in general. And so, the MET Office has advised travelers to be vigilant of the weather when planning their travels.
They have also said that swell waves are expected during high tide at some of the islands.
MNDF is providing assistance to the islands affected in the current spell of the weather in the country where property is being damaged in the islands.
They, too, have advised caution during sea travel and asked that any incident at sea be reported to the Coast Guard by calling 191 as soon as possible.
