Two people leaving a residential house after a theft has been chased and arrested.

Maldives Police Service said that the arrest was made last night while officers were patrolling in Maafannu around 2:46 a.m.

They came out of a building in the district, saw police officers and ran before they were taken into custody. Police said that further investigation has revealed that the two men broke into the office of Timber House Company after breaking the glass and the lock.

Stolen items including a pair of cotton gloves, casual shoes and a mobile phone were all recovered when they were arrested.
