Shahid: 1.9 billion acquired by Yameen Administration in four years was acquired by this government in three months

Foreign Minister, Abdulla Shahid has said that it took four years for the previous government of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to acquire MVR 1.9 billion in free aid and the current government acquired the same amount in three months.

Responding to a question at the parliament today from the MP for Naifaru constituency, Ahmed Siyam, about the Foreign Minister not visiting China, Minister Shahid said that he would be visiting China very soon.

He said that the visits to build relationships without exception to certain countries is part of the government’s effort to mend relationships and make a comeback to the international stage.

Minister Shahid said that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has made visits to four countries so far gaining MVR 1.9 billion in free aid to the Maldives; something which took the Yameen Administration four years to do.
