A total of 1,273 development projects are currently underway across the Maldives, with the Government ensuring timely payments to keep the projects on track, Finance Minister Hassan Zareer has said.

Speaking on the 10th episode of the Ahaa forum, Zareer said projects across the islands were being closely monitored by the relevant ministers.

He said the Government was prioritising projects and ensuring adequate funding despite difficulties in importing construction materials due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The minister added that arrangements had been made to ensure payments for ongoing projects were made on time, allowing work to continue without financial disruptions.
