Vice President Faisal Naseem has inaugurated the Breathe Life campaign.

Breathe Life campaign is based around the implementation of national policy on the health effects of air pollution.

The special ceremony to launch the campaign was held at Hotel Jen this morning was attended by the Health Minister, Abdulla Ameen, Environment Minister, Hussain Rasheed Hassan and the Minister of Gender and Family, Shidhathaa Shareef.

Under the campaign launched today, the World Health Organisation (WHO) Health Protection Agency (HPA) and the Environment Ministry will be working together to achieve the goals in the Breathe Life action plan.

The campaign is part of the Environment Ministry' efforts with WHO to reduce air pollution in the Maldives.

An action plan to defend against pollutants were made on 12 June. On the same day, a national awareness campaign on air pollution was announced as well.
