National Meteorological Service has issued a White Alert as swell wave surges are expected in the central and southern atolls of the country during high tide.
The White Alert from the MET Office said that swell waves are expected between 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in the central and southern atoll.

Talking to One Online, an official from the MET Office said that there is no connection between the swell waves and the lunar eclipse tonight. However, the eclipse may have an effect on the open sea.
MET Office has advised caution for swell wave surges during high tide.
