Minister of Economic Development, Transport and Trade Mohamed Saeed has stated that transitioning the ministry's services to the central "OneGov" platform will permanently resolve the ongoing difficulties faced by the public when seeking services.

The Minister made these remarks during today's sitting of the People's Majlis, in response to a query raised by the opposition MDP Member of Parliament for the Galolhu North constituency, Mohamed Ibrahim. Raising the issue, the MP pointed out that while the primary objective of digital portals is to ensure accessibility from anywhere at any time, the Transport Ministry's online services frequently become unavailable outside official working hours. He questioned the root cause of this disruption and requested a timeline for when the issue would be resolved.

In his response, Minister Saeed clarified that the ministry's transport application portal is technically open to the general public 24 hours a day. However, he acknowledged the need for system enhancements and revealed that the government is already working on a comprehensive digital migration.

"We are currently working on implementing a more streamlined, user-friendly, and modern fully digital system through 'OneGov' to replace the existing setup. Once the transport services are fully integrated into 'OneGov', the current difficulties faced by citizens will be completely eliminated, offering a permanent solution," Saeed explained.
