Aminath Minna has been elected as the Vice President of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

She was elected to the position after the former VP of ACC, Muavviz Rasheed was elected as the President of the commission.

Muavviz was elected to the position after his predecessor, Hassan Luthufee, resigned after a case against him went to the Parliament Committee on Independent Institutes for collecting his paycheck without working.

The President’s Office has raised the validity of his resignation as it was sent via e-mail without Luthufee’s signature and sent the case to the parliament.

While the law state that members are appointed to the ACC with the approval of the parliament, members have to send their resignation to the President.
