Homeland Security Minister Ali Ihusaan has announced that the government is working with the Attorney General’s Office to determine how criminal charges can be brought against individuals who engage in bullying.
Speaking at a press conference at the President’s Office today, the Minister stated that the government is actively working to stop bullying and other offenses that violate general social standards.
The Minister emphasized that when bullying escalates to the point where lives are endangered, the objective is to impose the strictest possible penalties. He noted that the government is prepared to amend existing laws if necessary to achieve this.
"We are currently working with the Attorney General’s Office to identify what measures can be taken regarding bullying, specifically to see if there are grounds for criminal prosecution," the Minister said.
Furthermore, the Minister mentioned that ongoing efforts are being made to prevent and address bullying within schools, colleges, and universities.
