President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called on citizens to base their votes in the upcoming elections on national ideology, emphasizing that the PNC represents a vision rooted in national interest. Speaking at a campaign rally marking the end of election activities, he stressed the importance of choosing leaders who are willing to sacrifice for the country’s future.
The President highlighted that decisions made in the elections would be judged by future generations, urging voters to prioritize the nation above all else. He described the PNC as a party committed to making decisions grounded in national principles and assured supporters that a vote for the party would not be wasted.
He also pledged to work closely with PNC-led councils to deliver results, noting that councils fall under the government’s executive authority. According to him, any internal conflict within that structure could negatively affect the public, reinforcing his commitment to efficient and uninterrupted service.
Addressing the proposal to merge elections, the President said the move offers clear advantages. He added that without a supermajority, parliament remains the key mechanism for holding the government accountable.
