Thieves have robbed the Faafu Atoll Magudhoo Island Council after tying up the security guard on duty.

Maldives Police Service said that the robbery took place around 3:30 a.m. last night.

The Island Council was broken into after breaking the door and the safe was broken into to robbed the money inside according to the police.

Police said that there was a small amount of money in the safe according to the Island Council. The robbery is being investigated further.
