Umrah pilgrims who were unable to depart previously due to various reasons have now arrived in Saudi Arabia.
The Maldives Hajj Corporation stated today that this includes 30 individuals who had paid a private group for their pilgrimage but were left without arrangements; they have now traveled under the care of the Hajj Corporation.
Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed mentioned last Saturday that arrangements were made for 164 pilgrims, who faced various difficulties in departing, to leave for Umrah that night, by the will of Allah.
"The Maldives Hajj Corporation has chartered a flight from Maldivian. Arrangements in Makkah have also been secured. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Hajj Corporation and Maldivian. I also express my sincere gratitude to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for the priority he gave to resolving this issue," the Minister said.
During this period of ongoing conflict in the Middle East, some countries have closed their airspace, causing significant disruptions to travel. Consequently, many tourists have also been stranded in the Maldives.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs has advised those traveling for Umrah and those currently in Saudi Arabia for the pilgrimage to remain vigilant due to the regional conflict.
