The Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has advised the public not to consume or sell products manufactured by "Bilethmaa Tasty"—a producer of packaged foods such as fried leaves, chopped dried fish, spicy snacks (kuli kaajaa), and fish paste (rihaakuru)—due to significant violations of food safety standards.

In a press statement released tonight, the MFDA stated that an inspection of "Bilethmaa Tasty" was conducted following a formal complaint. The inspection revealed that the establishment maintained extremely poor hygiene standards and failed to comply with any established food safety regulations.

Consequently, the MFDA has ordered the immediate cessation of all operations at the facility.

The authority further noted that while the Food Safety Act mandates all food service and production establishments to be registered with the MFDA, "Bilethmaa Tasty" was operating without such registration.

As a precautionary measure, the MFDA has instructed the public and businesses to refrain from consuming or selling any food products produced by "Bilethmaa Tasty."
