The United Islamic Society (UIS), a Kudahuvadhoo-based NGO and a 2025 Bank Fund grant recipient, has established a new multi-media studio at Dhaalu Atoll Education Centre (Dh.A.E.C) in Dh. Kudahuvadhoo.

The project created a fully equipped and sustainable studio for the school’s Media Club, which serves an institution with more than 800 students. The facility includes professional cameras, lighting kits, audio recording equipment, editing computers, and live-streaming hardware.

Dh.A.E.C’s Media Club has long been active and enthusiastic but previously faced challenges due to limited equipment. With the new studio, students will be able to develop digital media skills while producing videos, broadcasting school events, compiling reports, and creating educational content for the school’s official YouTube channel.

The studio will also support nearby islands and local institutions by providing media-related services and encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing within the wider community.

Management of the studio will be handled by a dedicated team from both the school and UIS. Sustainability will be ensured through ongoing training, regular maintenance, and potential revenue-generating partnerships with community organizations.

The Bank Fund is an annual initiative that selects five projects each year to receive MVR 200,000 in funding, supporting community development across the Maldives.
