Maldives Immigration has opened a new office in Kulhudhuffushi City to improve passport and immigration services for citizens.
The office was officially inaugurated today by Deputy Controller of Immigration Ahmed Ashfan at a special ceremony held in the city.
The initiative supports President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s policy to make passport and related services more accessible and convenient for Maldivians across the country.
Immigration authorities said the new office will permanently resolve space constraints faced by staff and significantly improve the working environment. The expansion is also expected to make immigration services more efficient and accessible for residents in the northern region.
Passport and national ID card services were introduced across all atolls of Maldives on October 7, 2025, as part of efforts to decentralize essential government services and bring them closer to the people.
