The State Utility Skills Academy has successfully concluded its first training programme.
The programme was inaugurated by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and is intended to serve as an entry point for building technical skills in the utility sector. State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) said certificates were awarded to participants upon completion of the training.
According to STELCO, 10 employees from various atolls took part in the first batch of training, conducted under the title “Cummins KTA-19 Service Training”.
The programme covered technical and ethical standards required in the workplace, along with detailed instruction on the components of the Cummins KTA19 engine. Participants were also trained on preparing spare parts lists using Cummins’ website and using the service manual.
In addition, the training included practical sessions on engine dismantling and reassembly, as well as fire safety procedures and the proper use of fire extinguishing equipment.
