President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that a racing track will be developed adjacent to the Sinamalé Bridge Highway.

Speaking at the "Youth Coffee with President" event held tonight at the Youth Center, attended by young people, the President stated that his administration plans to develop two racing tracks as part of his pledges: one in Malé and another in Addu City. He further mentioned that the development of the Malé racing track has been entrusted to Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

"For the Malé region, the most feasible location identified for constructing a racing track is along the exterior of the highway connecting Malé to Hulhumalé. This project has been assigned to MACL for the necessary work to establish a racing track there," the President elaborated.

The President noted that constructing a racing track in an inhabited area causes significant disturbance to residents, and in the past, when racing opportunities were available in Hulhumalé, various accidents occurred.

"Therefore, when considering building a track in an uninhabited area, yet one connected to Malé by a bridge, the technical advice pointed to that location as the most suitable. Consequently, MACL will commence this work very soon," he affirmed.

The President also added that the racing track in Addu would be developed with foreign assistance, and funding for this has already been requested. He concluded by stating that once the funding arrangements are finalized, the work on the Addu racing track would commence.
