An agreement was signed yesterday between Hulhumalé Hospital and Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) to establish a General Practice (GP) clinic in one of the Amaan Udhares towers, which are part of the 4,000 flats in Hulhumalé Phase Two.

The agreement was signed by Ibrahim Abdul Razzag Haleem, CEO of Malé City Group of Hospitals, and Ibrahim Razaan, Deputy Managing Director of FDC.

Following this agreement, Razzag stated in a video interview given to FDC that an urban primary healthcare clinic will be established in Amaan Udhares Tower Six under this agreement.

"This new primary healthcare clinic will offer additional services, including childhood vaccinations, growth monitoring, well-being and counseling services, and general practice services. Experienced professionals and consultants will be brought in to provide these services," Razzag elaborated.

Razzag emphasized that this initiative will reduce the number of visits and the time people spend seeking services at hospitals. He added that the GP clinic will ensure quick access to these services and facilitate faster appointments with specialists.

The CEO of Malé City Group of Hospitals further noted that as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing efforts to strengthen the healthcare system in the Malé region, six GP clinics are planned for establishment: four in Malé and two in Hulhumalé.

"Work to establish an urban healthcare center in Henveiru will begin very soon. We are working to complete both these projects simultaneously. The work to establish urban primary healthcare in Hulhumalé is also underway," Razzag stated.

The Urban Primary Healthcare Center and GP Clinic established in Malé, which was assigned to Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO), was officially opened on November 19th.
