MTCC, the contractor for the Boduthakurufaanu Magu project, has conducted a survey to solicit public feedback for the second phase of the road development.
The practical work to upgrade Boduthakurufaanu Magu, the outermost road in Malé, to modern standards began on August 21st of this year.
MTCC launched a dedicated link for public submissions to the project yesterday. However, the survey was closed today, and MTCC has not yet released its results.
The second phase of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu project, which is being carried out in three segments, aims to develop an 830-meter stretch of road. Additionally, MTCC stated that the project includes sheet piling work over a 737-meter area, asphalt paving, subbase preparation, establishment of a dedicated lane for pedestrians, and installation of a stormwater drainage system.
This project encompasses widening the northern side of Boduthakurufaanu Magu to four lanes, asphalting an 830-meter stretch of the road, constructing pavements from Hulhumalé Ferry Terminal to the Local Market, establishing a drainage system, road marking, and installing signboards.
The total cost of this project is MVR 144 million.
