Fenaka Corporation has announced that residents of Fuvahmulah City will not be charged for their water usage in November due to ongoing issues with the island’s water system.

Water services in Fuvahmulah were suspended on 14 November as part of a clean-up of the network. The Fenaka branch in Fuvahmulah has since resolved the issues and resumed water supply on 15 August.

The council had previously advised residents not to use the water after reports of contamination. Fenaka confirmed that the water is now being monitored to ensure safety.

In a statement, Fenaka said that work on the water network had caused several service interruptions and fluctuations in water pressure. “In view of these issues, we have decided to waive the November water bills for Fuvahmulah City,” the corporation stated.

Fenaka added that efforts are continuing to improve the water system and provide residents with safe, high-quality water.
