President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the Youth Hub – Malé, the first ‘Zuvaanunge Third Space’ developed by the current Administration to support and empower young people. The facility, located at the former Muleeaage vehicle garage site, aims to help youth build skills, find new opportunities, and strengthen community connections.
The opening ceremony was held this evening, with First Lady Sajidha Mohamed accompanying the President.
The Youth Hub offers a range of services designed to support personal and professional growth. It includes a dedicated space for artists, a music recording studio, and a mental well-being area called the Happiness Lounge. The centre also provides various youth-focused activities and skill-building opportunities.
Designed as a youth-friendly and eco-friendly space, the hub allows young people to organise programmes such as boot camps, workshops, virtual reality training, skill exchange sessions, community art activities, and culinary events. As it is located near several schools, students can access study halls free of charge by using their student ID cards.
After inaugurating the facility, the President and First Lady toured the centre and were briefed on its services.
The development of the Youth Hub follows President Dr Muizzu’s announcement on 18 November 2024 to establish a Zuvaanunge Third Space to address the need for designated areas for youth engagement. The ceremony was attended by Cabinet Ministers, senior officials, diplomats, Youth Advisory Board members, and many young people.
