President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has completed visits to all inhabited islands of the Maldives, a significant milestone in his first year and 11 months in office. His recent tour of the inhabited islands in Lhaviyani and Kaafu Atolls concluded with a visit to Thulusdhoo.
According to the President’s Office, the President has now visited 187 inhabited islands and cities, including 63 for the second time. These visits reflect the administration’s commitment to accelerating nationwide development through direct engagement with local communities.
During the tours, the President met with island councils, Women’s Development Committees, and residents to discuss key priorities and community needs. He was accompanied by a high-level delegation of ministers and senior officials who reviewed ongoing and upcoming projects across the islands.
Several initiatives were launched during the visits, including new housing, education, health, and infrastructure projects. The administration also pledged to establish Bank of Maldives (BML) ATM services on all inhabited islands by the end of this month and confirmed that police services have now been introduced in every inhabited island.
The President’s Office stated that the visits highlight the Government’s decentralisation policy, aimed at ensuring equitable development and improved public services throughout the Maldives.
