Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem, CEO of Malé City Group of Hospitals, has stated that the next optical shops will be established at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital and Addu Equatorial Hospital.

Speaking on PSM's "Raajje Miadu" program, Razzaq said that the government's initiative to provide eyeglasses for MVR 2000 under Aasandha is aimed at reducing the high costs people incur for eyeglasses, and that there is high demand for the government's eyewear business.

Razzaq said that while optical shops are currently located at IGMH and Hulhumalé Hospital, work is underway to increase this number.

"We are now working to establish shops at Addu Equatorial Hospital and Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital. Discussions are currently ongoing to set up optical shops at these two hospitals," Razzaq said.

Razzaq stated that there are no complaints about the quality of eyeglasses sold by the government and that they are selling high-quality eyewear.

Razzaq further said that since the government started providing eyeglasses for MVR 2000, some private establishments have also started offering eyeglasses at the same price.
