National carrier Maldivian has announced a reduction in Free Independent Travel (FIT) fares for tourists in a move to support local tourism.
The airline said FIT fares will be lowered by an average of 15 per cent, helping reduce the cost of domestic travel and making it easier for visitors to explore the country. The new rates apply to flights from today until November 2025.
The reduction in FIT prices is aimed at encouraging tourism and providing significant economic benefits to local communities and the wider industry, Maldivian said in a statement.
Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas said the initiative will add more value for travellers and reflects the airline’s commitment to promoting local tourism.
In addition to discounted fares, Maldivian offers special corporate rates for tourism businesses, including resorts and guesthouses. Operators interested in these packages are encouraged to contact the airline directly.
With the country’s largest domestic network, Maldivian currently operates flights across the Maldives, from the northernmost atolls to 17 destinations in the south. Tickets are available through the official website, online travel agencies, or Passenger Sales Agents.
