President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has officially inaugurated the water and sewerage services in HDh. Kumundhoo today.

The President launched the service during a meeting with the people of Kumundhoo as part of his ongoing trip to HDh. Atoll.

During the inauguration, the President was accompanied by Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) Managing Director Abdul Matheen Mohamed and State Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Hassan Rasheed.

The Kumundhoo water and sewerage project is a MVR 102 million project. MWSC was awarded the project on November 15, 2020.

Under this project, MWSC has established a 14-kilometer long main water pipeline network, constructed an RO facility building, installed two RO plants for water production, and set up three tanks for water storage in Kumundhoo. Additionally, water meters have been installed in houses, water connections have been made, and safe drinking water has been provided to homes.

As part of the sewerage system work included in the project, MWSC has established a 10-kilometer long main sewerage network, laid a 2.4-kilometer pumping line, and installed five pumping stations and one sea outfall in Kumundhoo. Junction boxes have been installed in houses, sewerage connections have been made, and sewerage services have been provided to homes.

Furthermore, the project has provided generator sets, vehicles, and equipment needed for water testing to operate and maintain the water and sewerage system.
