An elderly man has died after a boat capsized near K. Thulusdhoo.

According to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), its Malé Area Second Squadron was deployed after a vessel named Leo overturned while carrying six people.

Five passengers were rescued, while one man was initially unaccounted for. His body was later recovered from the site.

'One' has come to know that the man was declared dead on arrival at the Thulusdhoo Health Centre.
