The Government has launched major development projects in Kulhudhuffushi City, including the construction of a new airport terminal and the third phase of road development.
The airport terminal project has been awarded to Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), with the foundation stone laid by Finance Minister Moosa Zameer and MACL CEO Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed. The initiative was inaugurated during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to the city.
At the same event, Minister of State for Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Hassan Rasheed and Road Development Corporation (RDC) Managing Director Ibrahim Nazim inaugurated the third phase of the city’s road construction project.
The Ministry of Construction stated that the MVR 100 million project includes six kilometres of road development, fencing, a new drainage system, and the installation of streetlights.
Kulhudhuffushi has also begun expanding its port services as part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades.
