Ooredoo Maldives has won the "Telco of the Year - Small Markets" award at the Twimbit Telecom Awards 2025.
The Twimbit Telecom Awards recognize outstanding telecommunication operators in innovation, customer experience, and digital transformation across different market segments. The Small Markets category is contested by telco operators from countries with populations under two million.
This is the second consecutive year Ooredoo has won the Small Markets honor. Ooredoo won the award competing against companies like Dhiraagu from Maldives, DST from Brunei, and Bhutan Telecom.
Ooredoo won the award in this highly competitive category in recognition of its digital innovation, inclusive services, and efforts to transform the Maldives' digital landscape.
The company said it won the award due to its 5G expansion under the "Digital Maldives" vision, fintech innovation through m-Faisaa, AI-driven digital experiences, and numerous community initiatives for social development.
Ooredoo Maldives CEO Khalid Al Hamadi said winning the award for the second consecutive year is an honor for the team and truly demonstrates Ooredoo's work in advancing the Maldives digitally.
"We dedicate this recognition to our hardworking employees, valued customers, and partners who always encourage us to improve our services and create a more connected Digital Maldives. Ooredoo Maldives will continue to work as a key company in bridging digital divides, enhancing everyday experiences through technology, and contributing to national progress," said Khalid Al Hamadi.
