A new land use plan has been published, changing the plots allocated to people under the Binverin scheme from Gulhifalhu to be given from the currently reclaimed area.
During the last days of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration, plots were allocated from both reclaimed and unreclaimed areas of Gulhifalhu. At that time, allocating plots from unreclaimed areas drew criticism.
The current government has made changes to the land use plan of Gulhifalhu. As such, it has been decided to reclaim an additional 85 hectares of land from Gulhifalhu and allocate 3,520 plots.
The Planning Ministry today published the changes to the new land use plan of Gulhifalhu, which specifically marks the areas where plots will be allocated. This includes housing units and residential plots.
In addition, it includes a zone for government offices and special purposes, as well as a commercial zone.
The plan also marks areas designated for schools, mosques, tourism, and various types of businesses.
