Police have arrested two people in Hulhumalé as part of ongoing enforcement efforts against drugs.

The two, identified as Ismail Izhaan, 25, and Aminath Rushdha, 21, were arrested near the WAMCO Bridge in Hulhumalé Phase 1 yesterday.

Police said today that the arrests were made in connection with allegations of possessing, using and trafficking drugs. During a search, officers found 140.03 grams of suspected drugs and three cigarette rolls containing suspected drugs.

The two were presented before court for a decision on their remand. Ismail Izhaan was remanded for 15 days, while Aminath Rushdha was remanded for 10 days.

The investigation into the case is ongoing.
