President Dr Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the "Judicial Year 2025" during a ceremony held at the Islamic Centre. The annual event serves as a platform to reflect on the judiciary's achievements over the past year and establish goals for the upcoming year.

The ceremony provides an opportunity for judges and judicial sector employees to exchange insights and learn from past experiences. A highlight of the event was the official recognition of a long-serving judge upon their honourable retirement from service. Additionally, the Chief Justice of the Maldives, Uz Ahmed Muthasim Adnan, delivered the Judicial Statement, outlining key judicial priorities and developments.

For the past eight years, the inauguration of the Judicial Year has been marked with special events, except in 2021. As part of these initiatives, the national-level "Judicial Symposium" will also be held this year. This annual symposium is designed to enhance the judiciary's functioning. The 2025 edition will focus on Islamic financing and reconciling judicial and administrative practices in courts.

The Judicial Year inauguration underscores the commitment to continuous improvement within the Maldivian judicial system, ensuring efficiency and integrity in delivering justice.
