Civil Court has ordered Fenaka Corporation to pay MVR 234,294 to Mohamed Firshan by February 26, as part of the MVR 469,400 compensation awarded for his wrongful dismissal.

Firshan, who worked as a technician at Fenaka’s L. Gan Thundi branch, was dismissed from his job on December 3, 2019. He filed a case with the Employment Tribunal, arguing that his termination violated Fenaka’s employee regulations. Appointed in October 2012, he claimed his dismissal was illegal and requested compensation for lost salary and benefits until his reinstatement.

The tribunal ruled in his favour, stating that his dismissal lacked procedural fairness and violated the Employment Act. Fenaka was ordered to pay him his full salary and allowances until February 21, 2022, when his reinstatement was finalized. The company was also directed to submit written confirmation of the payment within three days.

However, Firshan later approached the Civil Court, claiming that MVR 235,105 from the total compensation had not been paid. Following this, the Civil Court ordered Fenaka to settle the remaining MVR 234,294 by February 26.
