MDP nominates MP Eva for Deputy Speaker of Parliament

The MP for North Galolhu constituency, Eva Abdulla has been nominated as the MDP candidate for the position of Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

The decision was made at an MDP meeting at Dharubaaruge tonight. She was also the only candidate for the position and won with the unanimous vote of all 64 members who took part in the vote.

At the meeting tonight, MDP also voted to select a candidate for the position of Speaker of Parliament. And the former President and MP for Mid-Mahchangolhi consituency, Mohamed Nasheed was voted as a candidate.

MDP issued a whip-line for both votes at the meeting with the unanimous vote of the members at the meeting.
