Commissioner of Police, Mohamed Hameedh has urged the public to report crimes to the Police, instead of taking the law into their own hands.
In a tweet sent out on Monday, CP Hameedh said that they were working to improve their services and that we all have a duty to respect the rule of law.
"Whilst understanding the issues around trust and confidence in the police servive, we urge the public to report crime and disorder matters to us and not take law in to hands," he added.
The CP's comments come during a time when the public had been punishing alleged criminals on their own.
