The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has stated that the weather will improve over the next 48 hours.

According to the Met Office's 48-hour forecast, while a few islands in the south may experience effects from the monsoon trough, the weather will generally be good.

However, until 18:00 today, various parts of the northern and central Maldives may experience rain showers with some islands receiving heavy rain and thunder. The Met Office predicts that winds will blow from the west and northwest in the southern region, and from the northeast and east in other areas at speeds between 8 and 18 miles per hour.

Additionally, islands in the north and central Maldives may experience gusts of up to 35 miles per hour.

The Met Office said that the seas around the Maldives will be moderately rough, with the possibility of becoming rough during gusts. Wave heights are expected to be between four and six feet.

According to Met Office statistics, Male' received the most rainfall in the past 24 hours, with 144.0 millimeters. Among the atolls, Aa. Maamigili received the highest recorded rainfall of 113.0 millimeters.

MNDF Media reported that from 11:37 yesterday to 8:30 today, 30,406 tons of water have been drained from Male'. Additionally, the MNDF has placed 1,550 sandbags at 210 houses.
