Member and Spokesperson of the Elections Commission (EC), Ahmed Akram, has said that the Commission has sent the paperwork to release funds to PPM.

Talking to One Online, Akram said that a request has been made with the Ministry of Finance and Treasury to release the pending funds to all the political parties including PPM.

While four political parties are to receive funds from the state budget, the Elections Commission ordered the release of funds to three parties on 16 May 2019. They were MDP, Jumhoory Party and MDA.

The Commission withheld the release of funds to PPM because the annual financial report from PPM had amendments to make.
