President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has emphasised the need to preserve and revive the nation's traditions, cautioning against their potential loss amidst political and societal changes.

During his visit to Mahibadhoo in Atoll, the President stressed the dual importance of infrastructure and ideological development for the nation's progress. He noted that true development requires nurturing the human mind alongside physical advancements.

President Dr Muizzu expressed concerns about the decline of traditional values, attributing it partly to the expansion of politics and its impact on society. He highlighted the loss of longstanding habits and customs that once defined the nation, advocating for their revival to maintain the country's identity.

The President also called for a focus on fostering respect, kindness, and cultural individuality to provide a better foundation for future generations. He underscored the importance of restoring these values to ensure a strong and meaningful legacy for the nation's children.

He pointed to the growing issues of vaping and drug use as harmful trends affecting the country, emphasising the need to address these problems and protect society from their negative impact.
