MNDF begins flood water drainage in capital city

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has begun works to drain flood waters in the capital city, following heavy rains.

MNDF revealed that their Fire and Rescue services are carrying out water drainage works from flooded areas of the city, with the aid of pump machines. Most heavily affected areas include the vicinity near IGMH, West Park Area and the jogging track in Boduthakurufaanu Magu.

The streets of Male' had been flooded beyond convenience during the rain in the city today. MET Office has forecasted heavy rains for the coming week as well, as the Hulhangu Monsoon begins.
