The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has announced that Aasandha services will soon be available in Thailand and Dubai, fulfilling President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s promise to expand the programme.
NSPA CEO Heena Waleed said the agency has made progress in working with hospitals in both countries and plans to announce the launch date and further details soon.
The agency is also addressing outstanding payments in the healthcare sector, ensuring that bills under the Aasandha system are cleared efficiently.
President Muizzu had earlier stated his intention to make Aasandha available in more countries, highlighting Thailand and the UAE as the next destinations for the service. The expansion aims to provide Maldivians with better access to quality international healthcare options.
