The Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the recipients of its Waste Management Grant Project, an initiative aimed at advancing sustainable waste management practices across the Maldives. This year, the grant supports organisations working to implement innovative solutions for reducing landfill waste and improving recycling efficiency.
Live and Learn Environmental Education Maldives is one of the recipients and will receive three glass crusher machines to be deployed in K. Gaafaru, AA. Ukulhas, and ADh. Dhigurah. These machines are expected to enhance local recycling efforts in these communities.
The Maldives Ocean Plastic Alliance (MOPA) has also been awarded under the project and will receive one glass crusher machine and one baler. The equipment will be utilised in Hulhumalé, helping streamline the processing of glass and plastic waste in the area.
This initiative aligns with BML’s commitment to fostering sustainable communities and protecting the environment. By equipping these organisations with the necessary tools, the bank seeks to reduce the burden on landfills and promote efficient waste recycling across the nation.
The Waste Management Grant Project is part of BML’s broader environmental and social responsibility initiatives, reflecting its role as a key partner in building a sustainable future for the nation.
