Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Thilmeeza Hussain has presented her credentials to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres.

Thilmeeza serves as the first female permanent representative to the UN from the Maldives. She had presented her credentials to the SG sometime on Wednesday.

She holds a Master of Science in Business Management from Colorado Technical University. In December, she was appointed as State Minister for Home Affairs for the North Province by President Mohamed Nasheed. In November 2009, she was appointed Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, serving until March 2012.
